Enrollment

We are happy you have chosen to look into Blessed Teresa of Calcutta School as an option for your child's education!

We recognize this is a very important decision for you as a parent and your child. As a Catholic School, we are a member of the oldest and largest school system in the state of Missouri. We are blessed to have so many people, from teachers and staff, to parents, to our parish community and the broader St. Louis community who have made a strong commitment to Catholic Education. We are all united in the belief that every child is a gift and we are all committed to providing the best possible education for the children of our community.

If you have not yet, please visit the About Our School and Student Life pages of our website to learn more about the great things happening every day at BTC School!

If you would like to begin the Enrollment Process, here's some important information:

  1. Request Information
Please contact us via the link at the top right of this page or by calling the school at 314.522.3888. We would be happy to send you a full informational packet on our school and the many activities of our school and parish. We would love to have you join us at one of these events.

  2. Touring the School
You are able to tour our school at any time during the year. Typically, our tours are given by our school principal Claudia Dougherty. On this tour you will be able to visit all of our classrooms and labs and visit with teachers and students. Schedule your tour by calling the school office.

  3. Student Visits
All prospective students are encouraged to spend the day at BTC School during the current school year. (They will be placed with their current grade level.) A visit day allows the student to see how much he/she enjoys the family atmosphere of our school and begin to build bonds with future classmates. Prospective students will also meet with both their future homeroom teacher and BTC's Learning Consultant to assist us in providing appropriate placement.

Students entering Kindergarten will need to complete the Kindergarten Screening, but do not have to shadow during the school day. The screening, along with review of school records and a family interview, is used to determine acceptance at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta School.

  4. Summer Tours and Visits
If a school year tour and student visit cannot be scheduled, tours can be scheduled during the summer. Prospective students and families will meet with the Principal and/or Learning Consultant on an informal basis for a tour, assessment and interview.

  5. Acceptance into BTC School
Upon completion of the student visit and assessments, the Principal will meet with the applicant's family to review school records and assessment results. After acceptance, registration paperwork and the tuition agreement is required to complete the enrollment process.

In order to register for our preschool, the complete registration paperwork must be completed. For students entering kindergarten, a kindergarten readiness screening needs to be completed and will be scheduled with the family through the school office. It is also highly recommended, but not required, that a tour is taken prior to registering.

  • What is the school uniform?

BTC School's regular school uniform for males consists of navy blue uniform shorts or pants and a red or white collared polo shirt. The uniform for females consists of navy blue uniform shorts or pants or our designated plaid jumper/skort/skirt purchased from Fischer’s Uniform Supply. • What is the parent involvement requirement?

We highly encourage and expect full participation by the parents of our students. All parents are required to attend a mandatory parent involvement meeting prior to the start of the school year. In addition, each family is required to serve on committees or at events throughout the school year, earning 20 volunteer hours. Beyond hours there is a $300 fundraising obligation that is required to be filled each year through numerous school-sponsored fundraising opportunities.

  • What is T.A.P.?

T.A.P. is an acronym for fundraising program that benefits BTC School. BTC purchases gift certificates from retailers at a discount and then sells them to school families and parishioners at face value. The certificates spend at face value and the difference is kept by the school as profit. All school families are required to earn $300 in PROFIT annually through this program. The $300 is charged up front and then any credit earned (up to $300) is credit toward your tuition balance or refunded.
