Art - Ms. English

Students in grades PreK- 8th grade have Art class once a week for 45 minutes.

Art Class

Students will participate in creative activities that help them with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.

Prek-2nd

The art curriculum is designed to promote a positive self-image, sensory awareness, growing independence and an eagerness to learn. Students are encouraged to manipulate and create with a variety of materials and engage in a variety of art making processes.

3rd-5th

Students will compare and interpret works of art. They will able to create works of art by selecting subject matter, elements, composition, media, and techniques to communicate an idea, mood, or feeling. They will also work with warm and cool colors, and contrast and perspective to show depth

6th-8th

Students will formulate and convey a response to their own artwork and the work of others. Students demonstrate they have the ability to: Formulate, communicate, and implement an action plan, making appropriate adjustments. Critically analyze and evaluate their own work or the work of others based on established criteria.
