Welcome to Spanish & Music!

  • BA Lindenwood University
  • Graduate of Lindenwood University, with a degree in Music Education, and a minor in Spanish.

  • My goal for all Music classes is for students to gain a wider knowledge and appreciation for a variety of music styles.

The grading for Music is based mainly on class participation. This includes learning songs, participating in class discussions, taking all required notes, and participating in any in-class assignments and projects. In addition to participation, there will also be quizzes and tests, as well as assignments during each quarter. Most assignments are done during class time, but there may be work assigned as homework at any time during each quarter.

    GRADING SCALE:

  • All students in PK3 - 2nd grade will receive a "T" on report cards. This stands for the subject area being taught, but not graded.

  • All students 3rd - 8th will receive a letter grade based on the average of all scores entered throughout the quarter.

The grading for Spanish is partly based on participation, however, most of the quarterly grade is based on the application of learned vocabulary, grammar, and cultural aspects in class assignments and projects. There will be frequent practice assignments, as well as quizzes and/or tests over learned vocabulary, translations and sentence structure, and the application of cultural aspects in scenarios and conversations.

GRADING SCALE:

  • All students PK3 - 2nd grade will receive a "T" on report cards. This stands for the subject area being taught, but not graded.
  • All students in 3rd - 8th will receive a letter grade based on the average of all scores entered throughout the quarter.

Homework Policy:

  • All assignments must be turned in the following class meeting unless otherwise specified.
  • If absent, students have until the next class meeting to make up work missed.
  • Late assignments lose points each class meeting time past the due date. After two weeks, assignments not turned in will receive a 0.
