How to Help

Become a Youth Ministry Volunteer

We need help with both and EDGE middle school and Life Teen high school ministries!

You don't have to be young or a great speaker. The teens need you to be YOU!

Frequently asked questions...

Is there an age range of those who can help?

Nope! Only 18+ We need adults of all ages involved! Especially for those teens without a supportive father, mother, or even grandfather or grandmother in their lives, it is important to have role models at youth group who can demonstrate what that type of support should look like in their lives. If you are on the younger side of your adult years (18-20), we do ask you help with EDGE only to have enough of a gap between those in youth group and those helping.

I can't run around with the teens, can I still help out?

Yes! Just because you may not be able to run around, you can still participate by leading small groups, giving talks, or even just being the person to sit next to the teens and ask how their day has been.

What is the time commitment?

*For middle school, EDGE nights twice a month, occasional meetings to plan as a group, and we ask (if possible) you come to 10:30 youth mass. See more specific role time commitments in the graphic above. *For high school, Life Teen nights every Sunday night, occasional meetings to plan as a group, and we ask (if possible) you come to 10:30 youth mass. See more specific role time commitments in the graphic above.

Do I need a background check?

Yes! Contact BTCYouthMinistry@gmail.com and we will walk you through the process.

I'm interested! What's next?

First, contact us to let us know which group you'd like to help with. Then you will have to submit a background check and complete a "Protecting God's Children" youth volunteer training class (a Core Member will give you all the information to complete these) And then you're good to go!
